The Dubai shopping festival is conducted every year from Jan- Feb. Ski Dubai

This is now increasingly becoming very popular in Dubai. It is an artificially created Ski area with lots of snow. You can come & pay the charges & you will be provided with warm clothes & shoes. You can ski & do lots of things on the snow. It can be found in the Mall of Emirates.

Scuba Diving

You can find this in the Dubai Mall. There is aquarium & under water zoo in here. You can find different varieties of fish including Sharks, rays, sea horse etc. Under water zoo includes many variety of animals including Penguins. Here you can wear diving costumes & just jump into the water. Then you can swim among the fishes & corals &

Burj Khalifa

Officially known as the world’s tallest building. It is 800 m high with almost 124 floors. There are restaurants, trade areas & offices in here. There is an observatory at the top, where you get a 360 degree view of Dubai.

Desert Safari

This is the most exciting & thrilling adventure you can find in Dubai, which can cause ripples in your stomach. You are going off road into the desert in four wheel drive. You are travelling among the Sand dunes & this ride you will not experience anywhere in the world. Then after that in the night you can enjoy belly dancing in front of a camp fire. This is only if you are spending the night there, otherwise after the dune bashing you can travel back home.

Dhow in Dubai

The past and present architecture of the area is brought to its full beauty during this time, including the National Bank of Dubai, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Sheikh Saeed’s house, and the Heritage Village. This unforgettable romantic evening cruise includes a buffet dinner of either continental or oriental cuisine, along with soft drinks, traditional coffee, and mineral water. The tour also normally contains various sorts of entertainment and traditional Arabic background music.

In Dubai, on the shores of the creek, one can still see dhows loading cargo for destinations in Africa, Iran, Pakistan and India much as they did several hundred years ago.

A larger dhow may have a crew of approximately thirty while smaller dhow have crews typically ranging around twelve.

There are four types of dhow:-

Ghanjah - a large vessel with a curved stem and a sloping, ornately carved transom.
Baghlah - the traditional deep-sea dhow
Battil - featured long stems topped by large, club-shaped stem heads
Badan - a smaller vessel requiring a shallow draught

In Dubai, dhow races are a common feature on government holidays, especially 2nd December, the National Day of United Arab Emirates. Regarded as one of the most spectacular water sports in Dubai, dhow racing is witnessed by innumerable enthusiasts.

As has been the age-old tradition in Dubai’s culture, the hulls of these dhows are varnished in teakwood. White sails made of canvas balloon up in the air and can be seen from a distance. Dhow racing in Dubai is usually held in three categories - 60 feet, 43 feet and 22 feet.

In Dubai, dhow races are held throughout the winter season, as the waters of the Gulf are seemingly safe and adept for these races. The typical racing spot is the coast of Mina Seyahi.

Most of the dhow races in Dubai are scheduled after 2 pm on a Thursday or Friday, making it feasible for both racers and spectators.

Imagine 12 acres of desert filled with 30 million liters of water and solely dedicated to having fun. That is Wild Wadi. There are 23 rides to entertain and excite every member of the family and in Dubai, this place has been more than just a shelter for those wanting to escape the heat of the desert. Adrenaline seekers will love Jumeirah Sceirah - a 33-meter high slide with steep angles to propel riders up to 80km per hour. There is also Breakers Bay, which has a wave machine creating 1.5-meter waves all day.
